Scholarship Application for Plan Your Novel Oct. 2016 class

This year I am pleased to announce scholarships for our Plan Your Novel, 30-Day Writing Challenge, Oct. 2016 course.

"You can't do anything that you can't picture yourself doing. Once you make the picturing process conscious and deliberate, you begin to create the self you want to be." (quote source: http://www.movemequotes.com/tag/visualization/)

Why you might want to apply?

If you’re experiencing a financial hardship, but really want the support, community, and teaching we offer, then apply.

Why I’m offering these scholarships

I know what it’s like to want to learn, to want to advance your career, but not have the funds. I also know the power of coming together in community and how that gathering accelerates the learning process and opportunities, of all things related to writing and career and to self-awareness.

Offering these scholarships is my way of paying it forward for all those who gave me scholarships along the way. When you apply for a scholarship, you’re joining in the “pay it forward” economy where we all help each other. We succeed as a community when everyone has access to the resources they need to get to where they want to go.

WHAT: We are offering 2 scholarships

You can apply for the DIVE IN level ($159 value) or for the ALL IN level ($299 value). To apply, fill out the application below.

CRITERIA FOR APPLYING

We’re offering scholarships to people who might not be able to take this course otherwise due to low-income and who really want to be career novelists. A career novelist is someone who works part time or full time to write, publish, and market a body of work over time. We don’t get there overnight, but we do get there eventually. Persistence is key! This course is one way to start that journey.

To apply, here’s what you do:

1. In a clear and compelling way, tell us why you want this scholarship and what you have to offer through your stories.
2. Describe how you meet our scholarship criteria.
3. Include your website if you have one.
4. Talk about how you are going to help your fellow students.
5. Talk about how you are going to share the course and give back to the greater writing community.
6. Tell us something fun and intriguing about yourself.

By when: The scholarship application period is from now until Wednesday, August 31, 9pm Pacific. (Use this handy time zone converter to determine when this is for you.)

Winners will be announced Sept. 1st in my newsletter.
